Why does the cd audio in my car become fuzzy when i have the engine on?
I have a clarion adx5555z double din in my 97 corolla and whenever I play a cd with the engine on the audio gets really fuzzy after a few minutes, but with the engine off the audio is clear , the radio and tape player dont have the same problem. Anyone know whats causing this??
I grounded the stereo directly to the chassis and I still hasn’t helped. Why wouldn’t the radio and tape player be affected by the bad grounding??

this is caused by interference in the wires. It can be cause by the rubber coating on a wire being sliced, stripped, or comprimised in some way. This could also be caused by a loose ground wire. one more thing that could cause this is a dirty laser.
I would trouble shoot in this process.
CD PLAYER TROUBLESHOOTING
1. get a cd cleaner and run it through the system.
2. if 1 does not fix then take out cd player and inspect wires for visible defeciencies
3. if 1 and 2 do not work test the ground
4. If steps 1 - 3 did not work trace all wires make sure they are tight, not comprimised in anyway and that everything is still hooked up
5. If all the other steps did not work go to a store like canadian tire, best buy etc. and buy a “Noise filter” the instructions are included but all it does is goes in the power wire to reduce engine noise (if it is not just ur cd’s that are fuzzy red next set of trouble shooting)
RADIO TROUBLESHOOTING
1. Inspect antenna wire and insure it is tight with no breaks etc in it.
2. Inspect connection at the antenna its self
3. If all this is fine go to step 5 in CD PLAYER TROUBLESHOOTING or try buying an antenna noise filter from canadian tire, best buy etc. and hooking that up (or both it never hurts to play safe)
Hope this helps you
